Steve Bishop - Director of Hugh Harris offers his advice on how to buy the perfect suit for your
To a professional tailor there is nothing worse than seeing an ill-fitting suit. To the trained eye seeing combinations that are, let’s say not combining at all is perhaps worse still. Here are a few tips to help you find your perfect style.

1) Value for money. Clothing for men is still very much down at the bottom of wedding budget plans. We find this odd as most modern weddings have more men dressed in wedding attire than that of the bride’s entourage. Setting a decent budget will ensure that your men fully compliment the beauty of your dress and all of the resplendent finery that encompasses the brides outfit.
2) Seek the advice of a professional for an experienced and honest opinion. It is all too easy to stay within your comfort zone. Perhaps, just perhaps, with a gentle nudge the outfit you wear for your special day may be different but better than you could ever have imagined.
3) Your persona will determine your outfit. In other words if you have fair hair light colour suits may not suit you.Try and choose colours and of course styles that suit you first and match any colour scheme second. All too often we are asked to sacrifice a grooms perfect outfit simply to co-ordinate with a sugared almond or your aunties favourite nail polish colour.

4) Suit shape as well as colour is seriously important. You may have seen that perfect suit on a trim, well-groomed model in that glossymagazine. What suits him may or will not suit you so do approach things with a degree of flexibility. Again all too often our clients insist on a style that simply does not suit them. Your formal wear professional will be able to guide you in the right direction.
5) Last but not least choose quality. Typical hire offerings often use fabrics that consist of material that, if you had to buy the garments, well you simply wouldn’t. Just because you are hiring goods doesn’t mean that they need to be hot, uncomfortable and ill fitting. Search out for an independent store that tries to offer you quality and fit.Yes probably more expensive BUT it is your wedding day. When buying an outfit, don’t be fooled by labels as it still might not suit you. Again perhaps pay a little more whilst seeking the advice of a pro’ to ensure value for your money but more importantly a look that justifies your spend.
