TNWS Daily Love: Flower-tastic wedding in Kent via Wedding Magazine

Today on TNWS Daily Love we fell head over heels with Wedding Magazine and their flower-tastic featured wedding. With so many shades, textures, styles and designs, fine wedding flowers add natural beauty and a unique dash of creativity to the arrangements and we couldn’t get enough of Wedding Magazine’s Real Life wedding of Vicky and Alfie set in the stunning Cooling Castle Barn in Kent.

Vicky, 26, a dancer and actress, and Alfie, 27, an account manager, married at Cooling Castle Barn in Orpington, Kent.

 The inspiration…

We wanted to create an enchanted forest feel, and so we went for a bright, multi-coloured palette. For our ceremony, we kept everything white: we scattered white fabric butterflies on every available surface, and displayed a white heart-shaped canvas of us on the back wall, and finished the look with soft feathers on the floor.

As a couple, we don’t do plain and simple; we were keen to create some wow-factor and upon entering the reception room, we made sure there was an explosion of vibrant colour and fun – it was perfect

The style…

My gown was handmade – I knew that I wanted to have something unique and a little quirky that would reflect my personality. I designed my dress with classic and chic in mind, and I knew I wanted a low back in a figure-accentuating style.

I went with lace and long sleeves, and when I found my dressmaker and we got to work, it was the most amazing and rewarding feeling seeing all my sketches come to life! My dress designer also handmade all of my bridesmaids’ dresses, and they looked beautiful in their ’50s-style gowns.

I also tucked a mini gerbera daisy away in memory of my nan, who was called Daisy. Meanwhile, Alfie wore a slim-fitting Herringbone three-piece suit from Topman with a Harris Tweed bow tie and Barker shoes – he looked hot!

The details…

The reception room was filled with fairy lights and fabric butterflies on every surface. We went for hessian lace chair backs, and propped our floral table centres on tree-trunks decorated with butterflies and crystals.

Our table names were fairies from Shakespeare and Disney. My sister made our beautiful large cupcake along with 200 smaller cupcakes – they were delicious!
