SS16 Bridal Catwalk Inspiration from Ghost London

As LFW has now closed it’s runway until the next season we caught up with The National Wedding Show exhibitors Ghost London to see SS16 Bridal Inspo!

As LFW has now closed we saw 100s of Designers showcasing their up and coming designs; those that are soon to shape the contents of our wardrobes and determine the new pieces we’ve invested in and carried back home in our guilt filled shopping bags. We’re take a look at the dresses that are made for the evenings, pulling out inspiration for our Eveningwear & Dye-To-Order collections. Satin gowns, barely there slip dresses and bias cut perfectly draped bridal attire is Ghost’s aesthetic. This is our focus.

Zac Posen, Calvin Klein, Burberry and Ralph & Russo all  showcased our aesthetic of sexy, feminine and elegant. When Zac Posen had an interview in 2014 with Style.com and said, “The nuance of, say, taking fabric from a center back on the bias and pulling it around [the bust] and it just happens to beautifully, gesturally create a curve…” we knew he was a designer that understood the beautiful drape that can be used on a women’s figure. His catwalk dresses show this concept has been beautifully executed in his Spring/Summer 16 collection. Statuesque models extenuating the effortless drapes of these gowns give us stunning bridal influence. Our designers and pattern cutters develop these key components as Ghost’s signature bridalwear and showcase 11 bias cut dresses in our Dye-To-Order collection.

Other designers are embracing the women’s shape. Harper’s Bazaar described Calvin Klein’s catwalk as, “subtly sexy frocks slink by”. A simple aesthetic, but one that is elegant and not needlessly over complicated. Its purity and natural elegance has been the reason why they have timeless and continuously graceful designs. Our Sofia and Betty dress both support the barely there elegant slip dress designs.
