Tip 1 – Wearing an accessory with a veil:

There are many styles of hair accessories that can be worn with a veil, it’s all about styling the look so they complement each other. One of the most important things to consider is where you are going to position your veil, as that will determine where you might like to place your accessories. For example, a veil worn low, beneath a bun may lend itself well to having a beautiful jewelled accessory positions above the bun. A veil sat a little higher may work beautifully with a headpiece positioned to the front.

Tip 2 – Where do I start when looking for accessories:

When you are trying on your dress, take photos of all the little details that you may like to match your accessories to. When you are in the dress, try and visualise how you want to look on the day, what hair style and accessories will complete your ultimate look. This will really help when you start looking and trying on various accessories and headdresses.

The most important thing I would say is to make sure you absolutely love your accessories. Accessories are such an important part of a bride ensemble, and will be noticeable in the majority of the wedding photographs which is why it is so important to love every single piece. They also make wonderful heirlooms for future generations. You also have to make sure the hair piece is comfortable and that you don’t settle for anything less that something you absolutely love.

Tip 4 – What is special about having a handmade accessory?

One of the loveliest things about having something handmade is that you are buying something specifically made for you. You are aware of where the pieces have come from and even have the possibility of meeting the person who has made the piece. If you are purchasing the handmade accessories from a local designer, you are supporting local businesses as well as having something completely unique to you.

Hermione HarbuttTip 5 – The benefits of buying accessories as bridesmaid gifts:

A perfect bridesmaid gift is something that your girls can wear/use on the day of your wedding, and be treasured in the future. Jewellery and hair accessories are the perfect option; worn on the day, and then kept afterwards with wonderful memories of the wedding. It also means the bride can combine the cost of bridesmaids’ accessories and gift in one lovely item.
