Apprentice contestants take part in wedding show challenge

The Apprentice contestants will be joining hoards of brides and grooms-to-be at the National Wedding Show on tonight's episode of the hit BBC series.

Just half of the original 16 candidates hoping to win a six-figure salary from Sir Alan Sugar remain in the competition and they will be selling dresses at Britain's biggest bridal show.

The teams, Alpha and Renaissance, will have to prove that they can appeal to brides-to-be preparing for their big day and help them find their dream dress, as the group that sells the most gowns will win and a member of the other team will be hearing the word "you're fired".

Both of the teams will only have 24 hours prior to the exhibition to learn all they can about dresses, flowers, honeymoons and cakes.

Speaking about the contestants' latest challenge Tim Campbell, winner of the first series of the Apprentice, said: "The tasks in the show are really intense and nothing can be more intensive than dealing with someone's special day. Even with a captive audience the candidates have to get it right first time."

The Apprentice's star Sir Alan recently celebrated his ruby wedding anniversary and flew his wife Anne's favourite musical star Sir Elton John to the party for a special performance.
