Bride for the day raises money for charity
A London woman managed to raise £620 for charity by wearing a wedding dress for the day.
According to the Epping Forest Guardian, 44-year-old Maria Perridge donated the significant sum to Diabetes UK, after being sponsored by friends and family to dress up as a bride for an entire working day.
"We had a few of the guys dressed up as well, my husband included," she told the local newspaper.
Speaking about the fundraising event that took place, Ms Perridge added: "There were about 20 people there. I was ecstatic when I added up the donations the next morning."
Due to the success of the wedding-themed money raising initiative, Ms Perridge intends to wear the wedding dress again next year.
Also this week, a charity fundraiser in Devon wore a wedding dress as she went about her everyday duties in support of special causes Cancer Research and Born Too Soon.
