Classic bridal wear on display in Scotland
A display of vintage wedding dresses opened in Scotland over the weekend.
The "Local Brides" display at Provost Skene's House costume gallery in Aberdeen features bridal wear from the past 100 years and examines the developments in trends and tastes over the 20th century.
All of the items on view have been worn by local brides or were designed by a north-east based dressmaker, reports This is north Scotland.
Dresses created by prestigious fashion designer Bill Gibb are among the classic gowns.
Gibb, who hails from Fraserburgh in Scotland, has dressed a number of celebrity brides, including Lucy Dahl, Yvonne Klein and LuLu in his 1980s romantic-style creations.
Meanwhile, the Corbet Accordion Band is planning to hold a unique wedding style fundraiser.
The group will be holding a mock wedding which will see local bride Sarah Lockhart 'marrying' a groom chosen on the evening of the event.
The celebration will include all the traditional elements of a wedding, with a gift auction, entertainment, dress and rings, reports the Bainbridge Leader.
The lucky groom's name will be pulled out of hat, but protective girlfriends can pay £5 for their partner to simply be a guest.
