Daredevil groom makes extreme wedding entrance

A plucky groom made a daredevil entrance at his recent nuptials.

Finbar McClements of Portglenone in Northern Ireland arrived at the church by parachute, a feat he told the BBC was a first for the country.

Speaking to the news provider ahead of the big day, Mr McClements said he and three companions would land in a field beside the church and he would then run off to meet his bride.

The sky-diving enthusiast made a quick change into more formal attire before making his trip down the aisle.

"I enjoy skydiving, and people were talking about going to weddings in certain ways, and now I'm doing it," he told the online news source.

"My wife-to-be just said to make sure I'm not standing there with a limp or a sore arm."

The bride Fiona Dillon arrived at the wedding in a more traditional mode of transport - a horse and carriage.

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that a bride and groom arrived at their nuptials in a BT van to celebrate their first encounter.

According to the East Anglia Daily Times, telephone engineer Rob Cherry met his new wife when he was called out to fix her phone line
