Golf star Colin gets wed

Golfing star Colin Montgomerie was married over the weekend in a loch-side ceremony.

The sportsman and his new wife Gaynor Knowles celebrated their nuptials with a two-day party, complete with a charity golf tournament on the eve of their celebration, at the exclusive Loch Lomond Golf Club.

Celebrity guests included model and keen golfer Jodie Kidd, football pundit Alan Hansen and new Gladiators presenter Kirsty Gallagher.

The Daily Express reports that guests were treated to a drinks reception, a "distinctly Scottish dinner" and slices of the couple's £6,000 wedding cake.

Colin and Gaynor met in 2006 and became engaged last September.

Prior to the wedding it was reported that Angels singer Robbie Williams was scheduled to perform, although the Daily Mail recently stated that the couple had hired an Abba tribute band.

The couple turned down offers from Hello magazine to cover the event.
