Jenny Packham wins best British designer award

Acclaimed designer Jenny Packham has won the Best British Bridal Designer accolade at the recent Bridal Buyer Awards.

UK-born Jenny beat Alan Hannah, Amanda Wakely, Caroline Castigliano, Ian Stuart and Suzanne Neville to claim the prize, reports Easier.

The winner was decided by actual brides and brides-to-be who voted via the You and Your Wedding and National Wedding Show websites.

One voter commented: "No one designs dresses like Jenny Packham. They are simply unique."

Ms Packham herself stated: "I thoroughly enjoyed the Bridal Buyer Awards, and was thrilled to be voted Best British Bridal Designer. It was lovely to see how much the event has moved forward, and to be part of celebrating all aspects of the British Bridal Industry."

Speaking to Vogue magazine, she added that her designs reflect brides' desires to look like a screen siren for the day.

Jenny Packham's designs have been worn by Elizabeth Hurley, Eva Longoria and Hilary Swank.
