Shayne Ward rumoured to be getting married

Former X-Factor winner Shayne Ward has proposed to his long term girlfriend, reports are suggesting.

A report in the Sunday People said that the girlfriend of the 23-year old pop singer, Faye McKeever, posted on her private social networking site that she was "meeting her husband to be" and was "so happy".

Shayne won the series in 2005 and has had four top ten hits with his current record label SONY BMG, and has spent part of the summer writing songs in the United States.

He said recently: "It's just been crazy over there, working in the same studios as Lionel Richie and Enrique Iglesias.

"A lot of people have asked if I'm going to take up acting now I'm over there – but I'm not one of those people who would try something even if they can't do it."

He mentioned that spending time in the US had made him miss his family as well as going "out for a pint".
