Wedding dresses raise money for charity

Nearly £1,000 was raised for a breast cancer charity through a wedding dress party, reports the Weston and Somerset Mercury.

Employees at Portishead club managed to make more than £800 for the improvement of patient care for breast cancer patients at Frenchay Hospital thanks to a special dress up day at work.

Judith Molter and her daughter Mandy Southey, who both work at the Club, were over the moon with the success of the 'wear your wedding dress for charity', which they organised.

Speaking to the Weston and Somerset Mercury, Judith said: "It was a fantastic event with great atmosphere. We would like to thank everyone who supported it and made the evening an enjoyable and successful one."

Ticket sales, raffles, donations, fines for wearing jeans and an auction all contributed to the final total which will go directly to the hospital.

Club member Kevin Meredith was on hand to fill the role of auctioneer. ADNFCR-1185-ID-18791921-ADNFCR
